  1. Extinguisher bottles are armed for firing
  2. Valves are selected to the proper compartment
  3. Shuts off cargo heat
  4. Selects equipment cooling to over ride if FWD
  5. Shuts off bult ventilation
  6. Activates lower crew rest evac system if aft.

A

Not immediately because the smoke detectors cannot distinguish smoke from halon.

When fighting a cargo fire, what is the bottle discharge sequence?

A

In Flight: 2 bottles discharge immediately under high flow, the other 3 bottles are discharged at a reduced rate starting 15 minutes later. If the airplane lands before the bottles are discharged, one of the 3 remaining bottles at the reduced rate on touchdown.

On the ground: 2 bottles discharge immediately but only one of the remaining bottles discharges are a time delay.
