Pallet and Platform Restraint

A

Lateral restraint is furnished by the sides of the restraint rails and prevents movement from side to side. Each locking mechanism is located at 40 inch intervals, allowing engagement of 2 locks on each side of the HCU-6/E cargo pallet. Indents are built at 10 inch intervals on the pallets.

Q

Nets, Cargo Tiedown, HCU-7/E and HCU-15/C

A

Nets are constructed of 1 3/4 inch nylon webbing. -7 side nets, consist of 2 nets for a single pallet. -15 top net is used to provide all necessary bertical restraint when connected to the side nets. Properly installed nets provide all the necessary restraint for cargo loads upto 10K provided the hegiht of the cargo does not exceed 96 inches. Cargo loads of 8K lbs are allowed if cargo height does not exceed 100 inches.

17
Q

2 or 3 Pallet Trains

A

2 or 3 pallet rain weights for cargo properly secured with nets and stacked to 96 inches shall not exceed 26k. Pallet train weight for cargo secured with nets and stacked above 96 inches (not exceeding 100) shall not exceed 21K

18
Q

Using top net alone

A

you can use a top net -15 for restraint in all directions, if the cargo is 45 inches high or bellow and weights 2500 lbs or less. If cargo exceeds 45 inches or 2500lbs, the top net will only be used for vertical restraint. supplemental straps will be used to provide restraint for forward, aft and lateral

19
Q

Additional pallet restrain methods

A

some cargo require BARRIERS with the chain gates.

  • MIn thickness 3/4 inches
  • Barriers exceeding 30in height must have a min of 2 gates
  • long cargo items may require additional vertical restraint in the center
20
Q

Shipping Empty Pallets

A

-6 pallets may be stacked up to a max of 20 pallets excluding the base support pallet.

21
Q

Cargo Winching

A

We use winching when a unit of cargo is either too large or too heavy to load or unload using conventional methods.

22
Q

Methods fo Winching

A

Internal
External
Vehicle

23
Q

Internal Winching

A

The AC cargo winch is the preffered method to use when winching cargo into or out of the AC

24
Q

External Winching

A

For loads that exceed the internal winch capacity or when winching capability is not available, an external winch source mounted on a vehicle can be used to load various types of cargo.

25
Q

Vehicle Winching

A

Self winching is recommended primarly for track type ehicles that require shoring.
