Case I or II Departure (CVN)

A

1) Coordinate engine start, rotor engagement, chock/chains, and launch with LSE.
2) Place form lights to bright and position lights to steady
3) Copy numbers broadcast by PriFly and standby for T/O
4) Lift on LSE signal, and report red light or splash fuel
5) Contact Strike for checkin
6) Contact Red Crown for checkin
7) Swap to Zulu for checkin and mission
8) Clear control zone as directed by prifly (to port, no higher than 300’)

LSE shall ensure the following prior to launch

A

1) All tie downs removed
2) Downwash are and flightpath is clear
3) Airborne aircraft well clear
4) Confirm launch signal from PriFly
5) Sufficient clearance exist for post maintenance hover checks

Case III Departure (CVN)

A

1) Coordinate engine start, rotor engagement, chock/chains, and launch with LSE.
2) Place form lights to bright and position lights to steady
3) Copy numbers broadcast by PriFly and standby for T/O
4) Lift on LSE signal and switch departure
5) Climb straight ahead to 200-300’ (unaided) or 150-300’ (aided), arc within 3nm to assigned radial. Climb outside 12nm
6) Report airborne, arcing, on departure radial, Popeye and on top w/ altitudes, passing 2500’, and KILO

Case I or II arrival (CVN)

A

1) Contact Marshall Control by 25nm out (transient)
2) Proceed below 300’ to starboard delta and hold
3) Check in with appropriate strike and red crown
4) Switched to tower
5) Snuggle up when told
6) Cross stern with Charlie clearance, inbound helo on 110 radial is #1
7) LSE in sight, fly parallel to spot and slide in

Case III Arrival (CVN)

A

Approach is to be flown as directed by CATCC (vectors to 3nm at 500’ preferred). Call the ball, secure lower anti collision light. LSE in sight, slide over to port side of ship and follow LSE direction. Land. Place light to flashing and secure upper anti collision light

Case I Recovery (LHA)

A

Check in with AATCC and report ship in sight. Positive switch to Pri Fly (Tower), by 5 nm.
• Maneuver as cleared to enter a Delta or the Charlie pattern.
• Report abeam “numbers for the break” if upwind, or “abeam” numbers (bow of ship) in downwind. Clearance from Tower is required to break.
• Await “Prep Charlie” call to enter Charlie pattern, and “Charlie spot” for clearance to land.
• During mixed ops, helos proceed to starboard Delta, and break no higher than 300 feet
