A
Known or suspected hypoglycaemia in a conscious patient where there is no risk of choking
Rapid increase in blood glucose through buccal aspiration

Presentation and administration of glucogel
A
Plastic tube containing 25g glucose, 40%gel
Encourage pt to squeeze the medication into their mouth, assist if required but beware of patients consciousness level

Further treatment with glucogel
A
No limit of repeat dose
If pt is unresponsive to treatment then IV 10% glucose
