why do many churches face the east?
the sun rises in the east, as Jesus rose on the day of resurrcetion
why are many churches cruciform (shaped like a cross)?
the cross is a symbol of the church, a reminder of Jesus death and sacrifice.
why are some churches are round?
they represent the eternal nature of God
Why are some churches octagonal?
they represent a star, bringing light into the world
why do some churches have high vaulted ceilings?
connect to heaven and reach towards God.
Why do some churches have stained glass windows?
tell stories of saints and from the bible - useful when people couldn’t read.
