17
Q

Normal fuel pressure

A

10 psi

18
Q

When does the fuel pressure light illuminate?

A

Below 6 psi

19
Q

Gravity feed should maintain MAX power from _______ to approximately _______. By specification, gravity flow is guaranteed only to _______. Flameouts have occurred as low as ________.

A

Sea level; 25,000 ft MSL
6,000 ft MSL
7,000 ft MSL

20
Q

MAX thrust dive at 0 or negative G limitations

A

~10 seconds at 10,000 ft
~30 seconds at 30,000 ft

21
Q

Do not perform MAX thrust dives with less than ____ pounds of fuel in either system

A

650

22
Q

List 5 possible causes of a fuel pressure light

A

Corresponding boost pump failure
Fuel leak
Generator phase failure
Fuel pressure sensor malfunction
Momentary blink due to fuel requirement surge (AB initiation)

23
Q

MIL power fuel flow on the ground (sea level)

A

2100-2700 pph

24
Q

When does the engine anti-ice light illuminate?

A

When the switch is placed to MAN ON or in the event of right AC failure (no crossover)

25
Q

When is engine-anti ice always on?

A

Below 65% RPM (no light illuminates)

26
Q

Where does the bleed air come from for anti-ice, where does that air go, and how does anti-ice affect EGT and thrust?

A

When anti-ice is on, compressor 8th-stage air is directed to the inlet guide vanes and bullet nose of the engine. At engine speeds of 94-98% RPM, an increase in EGT of ~15 C is normal. A loss of thrust of 180 pounds +/- 10 pounds can be expected with anti-ice on, which equates to an ~8.5% loss in MIL and ~5.5% loss in MAX.

27
Q

Normal oxygen pressure?

A

50-120 psi

28
Q

When does the Oxygen light illuminate?

A

-When the oxygen quantity indicator reads 1 liter or less of LOX
-Light may blink with less than 3 liters due to sloshing

29
Q

When does the fuel low light illuminate?

A

When either fuel quantity indicator reads below 250 pounds for 7.5 seconds

30
Q

What are the fuel imbalance indications?

A

0-50 pounds: no display
~60-190 pounds: white difference display
~200 pounds or more: red difference display

31
Q

Solo fuel imbalance limitation?

A

Don’t allow the right fuel quantity to be more than double the left fuel quantity when solo

32
Q

Total usable fuel

A

3,906 pounds single-point
3,866 pounds over-the-top
Left system 1,916 pounds
Right system 1,990 pounds

33
Q

When does the XMFR RECT OUT light illuminate?

A

When the battery is powering the DC busses (dual TRU failure)

34
Q

What does a single TRU failure generate?

A

A PFL is generated by the MDP

35
Q

How long should the battery provide DC power in the event of dual TRU failure?

A

Approximately 15 minutes at 80% charge

36
Q

TRU voltage? Battery voltage?

A

TRU is 28v, battery is 24v

37
Q

How many volts are required to close the battery relay? The relay stays closed until what voltage?

A

18v to close the relay; relay stays closed until 10v

38
Q

During a battery start, which lights should be illuminate prior to applying air? In what order should the lights extinguish?

A

All lights except Oxygen and Fuel Low are illuminated prior to applying air. Lights extinguish in following order:
1) Flt Hydraulics (once air is connected) 2) when right gen reaches cut-in speed: rt fuel px, rt gen, XMFR Rect Out, Anti-Ice 3) Util Hydr (once left air connected) 4) left fuel px (when left throttle idle) 5) Left Gen (when left gen reaches cut-in speed)

39
Q

Which lights should be illuminated prior to applying air during an external AC power start? In what order should the lights extinguish?

A

R/L Gen, Util/Flt Hyd, R/L Fuel Px
Lights extinguish in following order:
1) Flt Hydraulics (once air is connected) 2) rt fuel px (right throttle idle) 3) rt gen (when right gen reaches cut-in speed 4) util hydr (once left air is connected) 5) left fuel px (left throttle idle) 6) left gen (when left gen reaches cut-in speed)
