Q

How does antibiotic resistance provide evidence for evolution?

A

The reason why antibiotic resistance provides evidence for evolution is that it makes the bacteria better adapted to the environment in which antibiotics are present. As a result antibiotic resistance becomes more common in the population over time. The emergence of other resistent organisms also provides evidence for evolution

Q

How does bacteria create antibiotic resistance bacteria?

A

Bacteria sometimes develops random mutations in their DNA which create new alleles which can change the bacteria’s characteristics.one characteristic this can change is to give the bacteria the ability to resist antibiotics. This leads to a the allele for antibiotic resistance to be passed on to lots of its offspring which makes it common over time.

Q

How do tools provide evidence for evolution?

A

Tools provide evidence for evolution because stone tools are harder to disdruct than bones and stone artifacts. Stone tools provide us with information and evidence about the technology and the mental skills and ideas that early humans had.

Q

How are stone tools dated from their environment?

A

Tools have been dated from their environment as it is dated by the age of the sediment layers are found in.

Q

What are some issues with fossils?

A

Few organisms form fossils
The right conditions are needed to form fossils
Fossils can be destroyed due to geological activity

Q

What is geological activity?

A

Geological activity is to do with weather/environmental conditions which damage or break the fossils.
Examples of geological activity are earthquakes and volcanos
