Flashcards in CBR Deck (19):
What is chemical warfare?
Use of chemical agents intended to kill, seriously injure, or incapacitate personnel.
How many chemical agents are there and name them.
Nerve. Blister. Blood. Choking.
Describe nerve agents.
Liquid agents that disrupt nerve impulses causing damage to body functions.
Describe blister agents.
Liquid or solid agents used to cause inflammation, blisters, and destruction of tissues that cause blindness or death.
Describe blood agents.
Gas agents that attack enzymes in blood stream. Causes rapid breathing or choking.
Describe choking agents.
Gas or liquid agents that cause tears, dry throat, nausea, vomiting, headache. Feeling of drowning, causes rapid/shallow breathing.
What does M9 paper detect?
Detects liquid chemical agents.
What are the two types of biological agents?
Pathogens and Toxins
What is IPE?
Individual Protective Equipment
What are some types of IPE?
MCU-2P gas mask. ACPG. Chemical protective gloves, over boots. Skin decontamination kit.
Describe radiological warfare.
Use of radiological weapons to widespread injury and death of all life.
How many types of nuclear explosion are there and name them.
5. High altitude air burst. Air burst. Surface burst. Shallow underwater burst. Deep underwater burst.
Describe high altitude burst.
Occurs higher than 100,000 feet
Describe air burst.
Fireball does not reach the surface.
Describe surface burst.
Worst fallout because fireball touches the surface, and results in massive fallout.
Describe shallow underwater burst.
Small fireball that causes large waves and water contamination
Describe deep underwater burst.
Similar to shallow underwater burst but with less visual effect on waves and greater contamination of water.
What is MOPP?
Mission Oriented Protective Posture
