What is normal blood pressure for adults?
less than 120/80 mmHg
What is elevated blood pressure?
Systolic (upper number): 120-129
Diastolic (lower number): less than 80 mmHg
What is Stage 1 hypertension? (high blood pressure)
Systolic: 130 - 139
Diastole: 80-89 mmHg
What is Stage 2 hypertension? (high blood pressure)
Systolic: 140 or higher
Diastole: 90 or greater
What classifies as a hypertensive crisis?
Systolic: higher than 180 mmHg
Diastole: higher than 120 mmHg
