23
Q

CDS malfunction

A

PF maintains drop airspeed, altitude
avoid yawing
PF should not change deck angle unless requested by LM

24
Q

possible CDS malfunctions

A

GRM fails to release

load stops moving aft

25
Q

What is GRM?

A

gate release mechanism

an electromechanical mechanism designed to provide final aft restraint and release capability for the CDS

number of release gates is based on the combined rigged weight of the containers to be dropped on a single pass

26
Q

What provides forward restraint for the CDS containers on the cargo floor/ramp?

A

CDS Buffer Stop Assembly/two wishbone fittings, four Van Zelm ratchet devices and type XXVI nylon webbing

27
Q

How does the GRM release the aft restraint?

A

by depressing the JUMP/RELEASE switch light on the ADS panel or auto by the MC

28
Q

What is the EVCR?

A

a system that provides vertical restraint aft of FS 1100

the EVCR attaches to the ADS and inboard logistic rails

29
Q

What provides vertical restraint for containers aft of FS 1100?

A

EVCR

30
Q

What provides vertical and lateral restraint for containers loaded on cargo floor forward of FS 1100?

A

the ADS and logistic rails

31
Q

What is the BSA?

A

Buffer Stop Assembly

forward barrier

containers are positioned against the BSA and secured for aft restraint
