Function: resists pulling forces from many different directions
Loose Areolar connective tissue
Location: Beneath all epithelial cells
Function: binds to the epithelial cells to deliver nutrients
Elastic Connective tissue
Location: lungs, trachea aorta
Function: allows respirator organs to recoil after inhalation. Recoil tissue to help push blood through cardio system
Compact bone
Location: exterior of bone
Function: support protection and storage of minerals
Hyaline Connective Tissue
Location: ends of long bones, ends of ribs, trachea and bronchi
Function: reduces friction, support and flexibility
Spongy bone
Location: anterior of bones
Function: support, protection and storage of minerals
Fibrocartilage
Location: provide strength, cushioning and flexibility

Location: surface of the skin
Function: protective barrier
