What is executive function?
top-down regulation of behaviour/ cognition. problem solving and response modulation.
What does BADS stand for?
Behavioural Assessment of the Dysexecutive Syndrome
What is the purpose of BADS?
To assess a range of executive functioning: planning, organising, initiating, monitoring and adapting behaviour.
What is Capgras syndrome?
psychological condition where the individual believes that a family member or close friend has been replaced by an imposter.
What is Prosopagnosia
Impaired recognition of familiar faces
What is Benson’s syndrome?
Posterior cortical atrophy. A rare form of dementia that results in the progressive disruption of complex visual processing. A visual variant of Alzheimer’s disease that causes visual agnosia.
What causes a stroke?
Damage to the parietal lobe that cuts off blood supply. Most commonly occurs in the Middle Cerebral Artery.
What is the most common result of an MCA stroke?
Visual neglect
