What is a pointing device?
An input device that moves an onscreen pointer, usually an arrow
What is the most common pointing device?
A mouse
What is a mouse?
A handheld device that you move across a flat surface, like a desk, to move the onscreen pointer
What is a trackball?
A stationary device with a ball that you roll with your fingers to move the pointer.
How does a mouse, trackball, and keyboard connect to your computer?
Using either a code or wireless technologies such as Bluetooth.
What is a graphics tablet?
a flat grid of intersecting wires that form uncompleted digital circuits.
Each two - wire intersection in the graphics tablet has a unique numeric value
Who typically uses graphics tablets?
Engineers and others who need precise control over input
Can be used to simulate drawing on paper
What is a stylus?
Resembles an inkless pen and causes marks to be made in the computer software
How does a stylus work?
When a spot on the surface of the tablet is touched with a stylus, the circuit inside the graphics tablet is completed and the tablet receives a digital code that corresponds to the location of the circuit on the grid.
