Achievement, recognition, the work itself, responsibility, advancement.
As 95.7% of occupational therapists are women, what are the described differences based on research between women vs. men in management roles?
There is a gender divide between women and men and managing style. Women tend to be satisfied with less optimal outcomes and do not aggressively seek more favorable conditions for themselves when compared to men. Women strive for a more collaborative, win win situation where as men tend to view negation as a rational competitive gain and are highly protective of their interest.
What are some of the positive and negative trends among millennial employees?
hey are described as bright, hopeful, and idealistic. There impatient because they were raised in a world dominated by technology and instant information access. They are also fragile and respond negatively to criticism that is not constructive.
What prejudices might managers from the baby boomer or gen X generations have when supervising millennial employees?
They may consider the millennial and have been overprotective and lack practicality. Millennial are more tolerate of multi-cultural diversity and sexual orientation.
How approaches are good for working with a millennial employee?
The millennial’s will benefit from more of a mentoring relationship and sahared responsibility to foster their connectedness.
