Homeostasis
A tendecy to maintain a balanced or constant internal state; the regulation of any aspect of body chemistry, such as blood glucos, around a particular level.
Drive- reducing thoery
The idea that a psychological need creates an aroused tension state (a drive) that motives an organism to satisfy the need.

Aaron Ralston, physocial needs (food,water), safety needs, belongingness and love needs, esteem needs, self-actualization need (live up to full potential), self transcendence need
Appetitive- enhancing center
Is stimulated electrically well fed animals begin to eat. If destroyed animal will starve.
Appetitive- surpressing area
Stimulate electicaly and animals will starve, distroy and they will get fat.

Set (setting) point
The point at which an individual’s “weight thermostat” is supposedly set. When the body falls below this wieght, an increase in hunger and a lowered metabolic rte may act to restore the lost weight.

The body’s resting rate energy expenditure
Unit bias
Our portions are bigger. Food variety also leads to more eating.
