Emergence of a number of different dads:

  • Enforcer dad - traditionalist with strict rules and pocket money rations who believes he has to provide a stern role model
  • Entertainer dad - the clowns of the family to keep their children amused
  • Useful dad - take the initiative when it comes to domestic tasks but are less willing to pitch in
  • Fully involved dad - share responsibility for chores on an equal basis with their partners

C-British men have undergone a shift, but many till see themselves as breadwinners and heads of family as the pace of reform has not caught up with the change in attitudes and behaviour.
