Tertiary circular reaction
symbolic of mental representation of thoughts, includes deferred imitation
Beginning of thought
repetition of others behaviors behaviors after it has occured

includes sounds, facial expression, gestures, imitation
Prelinguistic communication
not well supported: counter evidence is that kids pick up grammar often seemingly automatically come up with novel phrases, and learn to many words too quickly for this to work complete
