What are the 7 fundamental assumptions in RC design?

A

1) Compatibility of strains - ec=es. Strain in the concrete is the same as strain in the steel at same location. No slip
2) Plane sections remain plane
3) Max use of concrete strength ec=0.0035
4) Concrete is ineffective in tension
5) Flexural stress at a given point is dependent on the strain at that point
6) Na is found from equilbrium T=C
