What is picture resolution?
Refers to the quality and detail of the picture on the screen of the mobile phone. It is measured in pixels. The higher the picture resolution, the better quality the picture is on the screen.

A type of multifunctional device offering advanced features such as the ability to send emails or browse the Internet

A 3 megapixel camera will print up to A4, for larger sizes a higher camera resolution is needed.
What was the problem with early mobile phones?
They were too heavy to carry around and could only make and receive calls.

What is camera resolution
Refers to the amount of detail that the camera picks up in one picture. The higher the resolution the more detail it picks up, it is measured in megapixels

What is storage capacity?
The amount of space a phone has in its internal memory, to store applications, pictures, sounds, videos etc. This is measured in GB, gigabytes
What is a memory card?
A secondary storage device that allows users to store, back up, copy and remove their files. Users can choose an appropriate card size, according to what they are using them for. Different devices have different card sizes, SD and SDHC cards are commonly used, but there are others. It is measured in GB.
What is an SD and SDHC card?
Secure Digital (SD) cards are one type of flash memory card which store up to 2GB of data. Secure Digital High capacity (SDHC) cards are another type of flash memory card and are ideal for video cameras because they can store up to 32GB of data.
Describe a music and video player
Music and video players are a standard feature of many phones. The music and video files are stored in different formats, eg MP3 and WAV for music and MP4 AVI and WMV for video. Different phones allow you to play different file formats, which may or may not be compatible with your computer. WMV is usually compatible, as most computers have windows media player and macs and apple devices can play them using O player HD.
What is compatibility?
The ability for a device to communicate and share information with another device.
What is file format?
The particular code that a file is stored in, different softwares and devices use different formats, which can cause problems if a device cannot decode the information.
What is Bluetooth?
Allows the exchange of data, over short distances, from fixed and mobile devices. In order for devices to communicate they must be able to understand the Bluetooth rules (protocols)
