What are the three legal jurisdictions in the United Kingdom?

What is adjective law?
It deals with law relating to legal procedure and process and applying substantive law
What is substantive law?
The division of law that contains what are commonly understood to be the rules of law
What is public law?
It contains the areas of law that define the constitution and functions of a crown, Parliament and judiciary and which govern the legal relationship between the crown and its subjects
What is private law?
It is concerned with legal relationships between private persons
What does the UK act for its dependencies (the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands)?
Nationality, defence, and foreign policy only
