Meds are administered by route other then mouth or gastrointestinal tract. Iv, IM subcutaneous, ID
Insertion
Placed into body cavity where the med dissolve at body temp. (Suppositories)
Instillation
Med introduced in liquid form into the body cavity. Nose drops, eye drops ointment
Inhalation
Med is administered into the respiratory tract. Nebulizers
Intransal
Med solution is instilled into the nostrils. Influenza vaccine
Topical
Med is applied to the external surface of the skin in the from of lotion, ointment, paste

Equipment used for oral admin. 30Ml or 1oz

Small paper cup used for solid forms of med.
