Concept of Organization
People are organized into associations and societies in order to achieve common goals which ultimately may give benefits to the community.
– is composed of a group of people, with a purpose, implementing specific tasks/activities covering specific geographic areas.
Organization
- is a process where people who live in proximity to each other come together into an organization.
Community Organizing
Community organizing (CO) approach
– is the active participation of all elements of society individually, in defining and achieving the common goals of development.
Reason to focus the community?
- The problems of the community maybe too complicated and interrelated to be solved by the government alone. So through making organization the help from the government can easily relay to the people in the community.
– is what organizers call the work they do to involve people.

Not Relief but Release
- a vision to give the change process because CO is a value based process by which people are brought together in organizations.
An Integrated Approach
– under the rubric of leadership development, they devote considerable time and resources to develop the skills, knowledge , and responsibilities of their members.
Teach by showing, Learn by doing
– participative culture and influence in decisions, the CO considers participation as an end in itself.
Live with people
- is known as the iron rule of organizing.
