Perineum
The region located from the Introitus to the anus

Eclampsia or pregnancy induced hypertension with seizures
Amniocentesis
Abdominal needle aspiration of amniotic fluid for diagnostic evaluation of genetic issues
Apgar
A 10 point numerical score given post-delivery assessing a newborns physical condition at 1 minute and 5 minutes for color, pulse, responsiveness, movement, and respirations
Cervical conization
Relate to the process of removing triangular cone shaped cervical tissue for cellular examination
Cesarean
A surgically assisted delivery via the abdomen and uterus
Chorionic villus sampling or C.V.S.
Vaginal catheterization for withdrawal of chorionic cells from placental tissue (to rule out genetic defects)
Colposcopy
Process or procedure of vaginal examination with an instrument
Episiotomy
Process or procedure of making a perineal incision (to assist delivery and prevent an anal laceration)
