What is procrastination? How can you treat it?
Procrastination is avoiding work or responsibilities for short term gratification. Leaving yourself with only enough time to do superficial-focus mode learning.
If you struggle with procrastination , turn off all devices and use the Pomadora method.
What is active recall?
When you close a book or look away from the material and trying to remember the main ideas you just read about.
How do you recognize when your in diffused mode? How does it feel to be in diffused mode?
When constantly thinking of a problem, which mode is active and which is blocked?
Recall an episode when you experienced the einstelling effect. How did you change your thinking and get past the preconceived notion?
Explain the focus mode and diffuse mode flashlight analogy.
Focus mode is precise, strong beam of light, but very small range. Diffused mode is a large era of light but shines very faintly.
Explain why procrastination is a special challenge for those who study math and science.
