A

Passed in 1917, it instituted a localized draft in the US. At first men ages 21-30 where required to register and pass a basic physical fitness test for service.

Army Alpha Test

A

The non-physical exam when men entered the service, it was used to determine intelligence. Soldiers who could read took the Army Alpha test, while those who were illiterate and non-English speakers took the Army Beta test. The results of these tests would later be used as evidence for eugenics

A

A black leader in the US. He supported the war and hoped the war would bring more racial equality to the country. Especially once the whites were forced to fight along side them and die. This did not occur

The head of the Committee on Public Information aka the Creel Committee which was created by Wilson to help get the American people on board with the idea of going to war. Creel got Hollywood studios to make movies and other propaganda for the war

An Italian born anarchist who was convicted of robbery and murder in 1920. It flamed tensions in the US about communist infiltration and began the Red Scare. Many leftist in the US used this to try to gain traction, but to little effect
