Chapter 4-6 Flashcards
(12 cards)
What is the difference between prokaryotes and eukaryotes cells and give 1 example for both.
Cell is the smallest unit of life and it is in 2 types 1 prokaryotes means before nucleus because the DNA don’t have any membrane structure so no nucleus. Bacteria and Archea.
2 eukaryotes have nucleus and it can be single cell to more cells like us. The word eukaryotes means true nucleus. Pro is more then eu due to small size.
what is the biggest cell that human can produce?
egg cell
what is the smallest cell that human can produce?
mycoplasma
what is mycoplasma?
mycoplasma is belong to the class of Mollicutes
what is mollicutes
are cells that has no cell wall the molecules are very easy to destroy.
what is the parasitic and commensal?
when the mycoplasma cell is associated to the host cell to protect them self and get the nutrients from host cell the parasitic because the host cell is in danger. if the cell is not in danger its is called the commensal.
what cell have the smallest genome in organism?
mycoplasma cell and this cell is the one cell that is eukaryote cell but in bacterial class.
what part of bacteria does the antibiotics targets?
there is 2 ways to target 1 it might kill (bactericidal) them or some stop them from growing (bacteria static)
what is the function of centrosome?
regulating microbial production.
what is plasmodesmata and where it is located?
its a cytoplasmic channels through the cell wall. it connect the cytoplasm to the neighbours cell to transfer materials to each other.
what is unclear matrix?
is the protein that associate with chromatin. the function of nuclear matrix is regulate gene expression and regulate chromatin structure.
what is ribosomes and is the its function?
ribosome is an organelle that read mRDN to protein. and its a protein mixed with rRNA.
