Q

How do you Monitor Targets and notice them in session? (task 1)

A

You locate where the client is in terms of their problems and progress by:

  • reviewing the diary card
  • listening to the client’s report of their week
  • directly observing the client in session

Q

How do you Prioritize Targets? (task 2)

A

Q

How do you Analyze the highest priority target (task 3)

How would you introduce this to the client?

A

Assess specific instances of target behaviour using chain analysis until you understand the controlling variables well enough to intervene

Introduce it by saying “Can we look closely at this together”

Q

What are 2 important places to focus on in chain analysis when you’re analyzing highest priority target

A
  1. The point of no return (the point in the sequence where you want the client to have the ability to step back and not engage in the problem behaviour)
  2. Early in the sequence (before emotion dysregulation makes it difficult to change course, this is often close to the first cues of the path to the problem behaviour)
