Using the MyPlate guide, create a healthy meal. Explain what are the food groups.

Using the MyPlate guide, I created a healthy meal. I picked from the five food group: grains, vegetable, dairy, fruits, protein. I selected spaghetti/meat sauce which covers the protein and grains. My grains will give me carbohydrates for energy. The meat sauce is the protein, which will build and repair my cells. I also selected steamed broccoli which covers the vegetable. My fruit is mixed fruit and milk is my dairy. The milk will hwlpmmy bomes be stronger becuase of the calcium MyPlate.gov describes the 5 food groups that are necessary for a healthy meal. The Health book identify the food items that I selected.

Why is breakfast sometimes called the most important meal of the day?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because your body needs energy to work during the day. For example, in the Health book it say our body works like a car. If a car doesn't have fuel it won't work. Like our body if we dont have food then our body won't work. It will help boost your energy do you are ready for school and to learn. The health book also states that the nutrients give you the energy to work and play. According to our
health book, an example of a good choice for breakfast would include foods with complex carbohydrates and protein, such as oatmeal with milk or eggs with whole-grain toast. Another example would be a breakfast on the go which could consist of fresh fruit, whole-grain bread, and string cheese. Either one of these would be a good way to start
the day.
