Flashcards in Chapter 9 - Flight Controls Deck (21):
What is the meaning of the stab trim OFF flag ?
Trim indicator is inop.
What is the meaning of the STAB TRIM light ?
Stabilizer trim rate is 1/2 of the normal speed.
Is there manual reversion for the flight controls ?
Roll controls is provided by:
- 4 ailerons
- 12 spoilers
Artificial feel for the elevator system is provided by ?
Two elevator feel systems and mechanical springs as backup.
Stabilizer trim is powered by which hydraulic systems ?
the L and the C hydraulic systems.
Automatic stabilizer trim uses ... trim control module and trims at ... trim rate.
Is it possible to disable the A/P using electric trim when multiple A/P's are engaged ?
What is the pitch enhancement system (PES) ?
Hydraulic motor on the R hydraulic system that uses remaining L hydraulic system fluid, automatically activated in case of loss of L+C, 1/4 of the normal rate.
What is the aileron lockout system ?
Locks out the outboard ailerons at high speeds.
Yaw damper control is provided by ... yaw dampers.
How many hydraulic systems are required to provide full rudder control at low airspeeds ?
The speedbrake load alleviation system is active at:
- high GW, AND
- IAS greater than 320kts, AND
- Flaps up
In case of an RTO, so on the ground, the speedbrakes deploy from DOWN to UP when:
Either TL is moved to reverse idle.
Are TE flaps extended at F1 position ?
At which flap settings is flap load relief active ?
F25 and F30. Reversion to F20 until speed is reduced.
What is the meaning of the SPOILERS light ?
One or more spoiler pairs are inop.
Does the TRAILING EDGE light illuminate when the flap load relief system is not working when it should ?
What happens when the flap lever is not in a detent for an extended period of time ?
LE DISAGREE and TE DISAGREE may occur. This disappears when a flap setting has been selected.
When the HDG is active, is flaps/slat extension affected ?
Yes, it takes more time. Extension is still done hydraulically.
