Robbery
The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines robbery as the taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and/or by putting the victim in fear.
Elements of Robbery

- By the use of force, fear OR intimidation

Extortion
The theft of property from another person by means of threats of future violence, exposure of secrets, or taking or withholding official action

Larceny defined
A person commits larceny when, with intent to deprive another of property or to appropriate the same to himself or a third person, he wrongfully takes, obtains or withholds such property from an owner.
Blackmail
A form of extortion whereby a threat is made to disclose a secret, a crime, some type of social disgrace or an embarrassment.
Bribery
Money, goods or favor that is promised or given for the purpose of influencing the conduct or judgment of a person who is in a position of trust.
Two Types of Bribery
- To give a public official money or property of any value in exchange for an agreement by the official to do or refrain from doing something that is against an official duty.
- For a public official to agree to do something that is a contradiction of his/her duty in exchange for money/property of any value.
