what are the economic charateristics of high income + low income countries

A

wide range of industries
* high income countries often have a wide range of industries, including mining, processing, manufacturing, education, health care, scientific research and technology.
* low income countries, on the other hand, often have a limited range of industries, usually centred on farming and primary production.
Global Trade
* global trade is also affected by infrastructure (such as roads, ports and airports) and knowledge and experience, which assist in buying from and selling to other countries around the world.
Level of poverty
* the level of poverty can be expressed as the porpotion of those of less than PPP $2.15 per day (purchasing power parity = PPP) known as extreme poverty.
* In low and middle income countries experience a greater propotion of the population living in extreme poverty than high income countries.

A

health system
* high-income countries generally have public health systems. People are usually able to access baisc health care when they need it.
gender equality
* high-income countries often experience relatively high levels of gender equality. in these countries, both males and females have opportunities and choices in education, employment, community participation, family planning and recreation
Birth and population rates
* low birth rates and slow rates of population growth. Access to contraception, choice in family planning, career choices, education, gender equality and culture contribute to this difference.

what are the envirnomental charateristics of high income countries

A

food security
* people in high-income countries generally have access to a quality food supply. Natural disasters, such as floods and droughts, tend to have a more pronounced impact on avaiability of food for those in low income countries.
Safe water and saniatiation
* safe water and saniatation are charateristics of high income and many middle-income countries. Access to safe water and saniatation is responsible for a large proportion of the variations in health and wellbeing.
Adequate housing
* compared to high income countries, many people in low and middle income countries lack access to adequate housing. They often live in substandard housing.
