- working class ignored by the great reform of 1832
- industrial rev = poor working conditions and pay
- poor harvests
- poor law of 1834 = those who couldnt afford rent or food were sent to work houses
- william lovett (peacful petitions) set up the working mens association (joined by BPU)

- Every man 21+ should be able to vote
- All voting to take place in secret
- Equal-sized constituencies (voting districts)
- MPs should be paid
- MPs should not have to own property
- Elections should be held every year
