CONSEQUENCES

A
  • Prevented c.100 million births
  • GENDER IMBALANCE (117 men: 100 women) - people wanted males for religious and cultural reasons so girls often aborted/thrown away
  • Little Emperor Syndrome in kids
  • 4-2-1 Family imbalance - increased pressure on working population
  • Led to aging population
