summary table could appear in long answer research method questions. Could get asked to present a set of results in a summary table or asking you to write a results section for a psychological report

Q

bar charts-when to use

A

• Data is divided into categories

Q

scattergram

A

-show relationship between two co-variables.

• When you are looking at a relationship between two variables.
• Points are determined by two numerical scores.
• One on the X-axis and the other on the Y-axis.

Shows you the strength and direction of the relationship.

• In an exam you will be presented with a study and a results table.
• Sketch an appropriate graph to display the results.
• You will need to realise that a scattergram is needed.
-clear title, axis labelled with units, intervals equal,
-draw line of best fit if required, use a pencil

Q

histograms

A

• Used for continuous data e.g. Weight, height, scores on a. test.
• Bars touch each other
• X-Axis = equal sized intervals of a single category.(eg 50-60,60-70)
• Y-Axis - Frequency within each interval.
• You won’t be asked to calculate, just sketch.
