What is electroconvulsive therapy ?
Electric currents are sent though the brain to induce a breif seizure, which can reverse certain illnesses
What is psychosurgery?
Procedures performed on the brain in order to alleviate severe symptoms of mental illness that are not responsive to less invasive treatments
What are antianxiety medications and how do they work?
Medication that reduces anxiety via central nervous system....the side effect include impaired attention and memory, and loss of coordination

Therapy that investigates repressed fears and conflicts by bringing them into the comcoius mind in order to treat the mental disorder
What is behaviorial therapy?
Client change potentially destructive behavior through learning principles
What is cognitive behavior therapy?
Helps person change potentially self destructive behavior through addressing negative thought patterns that fuel the behavior

Client is given an accepting empathetic environment in which explore and attain personal growth

Psychodynamic therapy....client reaches self awareness of unconscious content and childhood experiences...as well as understanding impact
