What happened at the Last Supper?
He had a meal with the disciples. He prophesied one of them would betray him. He shared bread and wine at the end, establishing Eucharist. He called the greatest the ones that serve. He said Peter would deny knowing him 3 times before ‘the cock crowed’.
What happened at the betrayal and arrest?
Jesus left the disciples, asking God to ‘take this cup from me, yet not my will but yours be done’. He returned to them, and they were asleep. When they awoke, Judas had arrived with the chief priests to arrest him. He was identified with a kiss. The disciples tried to fight back, but He wouldn’t let them.
What happened at Jesus’ trial?
Peter followed Jesus to the Chief Priest’s house, but denied knowing him 3 times and cried. Jesus was accused of blasphemy by the Sanhedrin for claiming to be Christ. Pontius Pilate trailed him but could find nothing wrong. He let the people choose to release Him or Barabbas, a Jewish freedom fighter. The people released Barabbas.
What happened at Jesus’ crucifixion?
On Good Friday, Simon of Cyrene carried His cross. 2 robbers were crucified beside him and onlookers mocked him by making a sign saying ‘Here is Christ, King of the Jews’. Jesus forgave His killers and said ‘Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit’. He died.
What happened at Jesus’ resurrection?
Sanhedrin member Joseph of Arimathea buried Christ in the tomb. On Easter Sunday, women came to anoint his body, but he wasn’t there. Jesus appeared to two disciples in Emmaus. In other Gospels he appears to Mary and next to the Sea of Galilee.
