What is Chromatography used for?
A
It’s used to separate a mixture of substances (colours). Different compounds have different solubilities as they travel at different rates

A
It’s when there is a chromatography paper with a coloured or not coloured spot

A
The substance is pure

When are different solvents used?
A
- Solvent is usually water
- Ethanol solvent is used with plants

What happens when the solute is able to dissolve a lot in the solvent?
A
The further it will travel up the chromatography paper

A
