A#2: since עמלק didnt change their clothing to כנענים clothing, Bnei Yisrael knew that it was עמלק. They also changed their language to כנען so bnei Yisrael would think that they’re the כנעניםand davven for כנען to be destroyed.

A: They heard that Aaron died and the ענני הכבוד was removed and they are always looking for a chance to get at bnei Yisrael and now they are not protected because the ענני הכבוד was in Aaron’s zechus.

Q: What does this mean?
A: קיצור נפש means that the burden was too much for them to bear and they felt this cause the last time they went south instead of north they ended up going south for 38 years so now that they have to go south again they’re worried/have trauma that they will have to go south for 38 years again and they feel burdened.

A#1: they spoke Lashon Hara so they are going to get punished by the first thing/person to say Lashon hara. Which was a snake.
A#2: Bnei Yisrael we’re complaining about the מן and so the snake came and said “you’re complaining about something that you can eat that taste like whatever you want. I’m not complaining and what I eat only taste like one thing!”

Q#1: why does one פסק say different/more words than the others?
A#1:because if they’re bitten by a regular animal, they just look at the snake and live, but if you’re bitten by the snake, they have to gaze at the stick and they’ll live. פסוק ח is talking about any animal, and in פסוק ט it’s talking about the snake.
Q#2: was it a snake that killed or brought people back to life?
A#2: when they looked/gazed at the snake, they were really looking up to heaven/Hashem to heal them.
