circular motion Flashcards
(8 cards)
where is the direction of velocity at any giving moment
tangent to the circle
where is acceleration always towards
the center
describe on circular motion is different to other dynamics
even though the speed is constant, it will always e accelerating towards the center, and velocity is always changing
what is centripetal force
the net force taht accelerates an object towards the center of its circular path
how is circular motion on vertical circle different
at the top of the arc it is Winner+Winner ( Fg+Ft)
at the bottom Winner-Loser ( Ft-Fg)
tension at the top =0
at the top it is in freefall, only gravity working on it
what equation can you use when finding minimum speed of an object undergoing going constant speed at the top of its arc
V=/r*g
explain why centrifugal force doesnt exist
it is simply the apparent force that causes a rotating object to move in a straight line. in reality what we feel is inertia ( the ability to resist change)
