Circulatory System Flashcards
(7 cards)
systemic point 1
Supplies oxygenated blood to the tissues of the body
systemic point 2
Blood is pumped from the left ventricle of the heart, through the aorta and arteries to the arterioles and through capillaries
systemic point 3
Deoxygenated blood then returns through the venules, into the veins and returns, via the vena cava and to the right atrium of the heart.
pulmonary point 1
Returns deoxygenated blood to the lungs
pulmonary point 2
Blood is pumped from the right atrium to the right ventricle
pulmonary point 3
It leaves the heart through pulmonary arteries and is delivered to the lungs. In the lungs, oxygen is added to the blood and carbon dioxide is removed
pulmonary point 4
The blood returns to the heart through the pulmonary veins, is delivered to the left atrium and then the left ventricle
