What do you never want to do when opening car door?
Never open door into path of another road user especially bicyclist.
What is the trick used when opening a door to avoid dangers to bicyclist and doors and how do you do it?
The opposite hand trick or Dutch reach is when you use the right hand instead of the left to open door latch, this trick, turns your body to the left, making it easier to check the side mirror and then scan back over your shoulder. Open the door lightly to get a clear rearward view before exiting with caution.
