What is randomised?

A

The subjects involved in clicks trials are split up in a random way to reduce bias in the distribution of characteristics

What is double blind?

A

Neither the subjects being tested or the researchers know which group the subjects are in to reduce bias

What is placebo controlled?

A

One group will receive the drug and one will receive a “dummy drug” that takes the same form but lacks the active ingredient
This acts like a control and allows a valid comparison and proof thag any improvement is as a result of the drug alone

A

The group size must be large to reduce the magnitude of experimental error and increase the reliability of the results
