CLO2 Flashcards
(9 cards)
Obstructive vs restrictive PFT ratio
FEV1/FVC <70 is obstructive decreased FEV1 and FVC
Restrictive - both FEV1 and FVC decreased but FEV1/FVC ratio is normal or increased
Normal is 80% +
What measurements are vital in monitoring patients with myasthenia gravis
NIF( <-20 critical), Vital capacity (<15)
MEP(<40)
What are the most definitive tests for determining pulmonary embolism
CTPA (gold standard), V/Q scan, D dimer
What tests diagnose guillan barre
Cerebrospinal fluid( gold standard), electromyography
What symptoms would prompt an RT to recommend a sputum culture and gram stain
Productive cough, increased secretions, fever, tachycardia, diminished or bronchial breath sounds
What can cause absence of lung tissue markings on chest radiograph
Pneumothorax, pneumectomy, emphysema and obstruction diseases
What type of test should be run on a pt who has potential CO poisoning
ABG with CO OX oximetry
EKG abnormalities for electrolyte imbalances
Increased T waves- Hyperkalemia
Decreased T waves- Hypokalemia
What is DCLO testing in PFT lab
Level of CO moving across the AC membrane
