- (coastal squeeze) sand dunes moving inland at 4m per year
- 30m of coastal land lost in 2013/2014 due to storms

- dredging (scooping up sand from underwater to replenish the coast)
- off read vehicles destroying sand dunes
- recreations such as walking and jogging has destroyed the frontal dunes

management strategies for these challenges

- artificial defences created to protect the coastline
- locals planted marram grass to stabilise and increase the size of the dunes
- off road vehicles have now since been banned and need to be permitted for use
