  • only effective for offenders who have problems controlling anger
  • only effective for those motivated

Pros

  • SE Ireland 2004 - 50 young male prisoners on AM course and 37 control and 92% showed improvement
  • however, ppts could lie to reduce sentence
  • CBT is a better treatment as it acknowledged past experiences and thoughts
