Corrosion, wear, fraying or weak spots, and that they retract and buckle

Oil

Correct level, not contaminated with coolant (chocolate milk) or fuel (fuel smell)

No dents, gouges, discoloration due to high heat, hydrostatic test date <5 years, psi >4000
