Q

Characteristics of a corries

A

Steep back wall and side.
Bowl shape.
Some freeze thaw weathering at the top of the point.
Where there is less erosion at the front of the corrie there might be a build up of rocks called a moraine or rock lip.

16
Q

What is continentality?

A

It is the distance from the ocean/sea. If you are close to the ocean/sea you will bet a cool breeze in summer but a warm one in winter.

17
Q

What is an arête?

A

An arête is two corries back to back.

18
Q

What is a pyramidal peak?

A

A pyramidal peak is 3 or more corries back to back.
