What was the main cause of the Cold War?
The fall of the alliance between the US and the Soviet Union due to clashing ideologies/philosophies.
Compare the United States and the Soviet Union’s stance on Germany after WW2
US wanted to reunite Germany to stabilize it and increase the security in Europe while the Soviet Union wanted to keep Germany divided to prevent it from waging war once again.

Proposed by US Secretary General George C. Marshall , the plan provided 13 billion dollars to restore Europe.
What was the goal of the Policy of Containment?
To prevent further Soviet aggression and keep communism inside the border.
