why did the issue of the second front create tensions?
stalin wanted it 1941, planned for 1942 but delayed because of dieppe raid failure, and Churchill wanted to continue work in Italy
stalin demanded it at Tehran 1943, due to high soviet death toll, and west planned it for may 1944
stalin believed that the west were trying to undermine/ weaken USSR - west believed stalin was unreasonable (USA supplied 10 mill tonnes through lend-lease)
