Q

Collectivisation overall.

A

Overall, from Stalin’s initial aims, it was a success. In the long term, state procurement of grain increased by over double between 1928 and 1933. This boosted the economy and provided money for it to industrialise with. However, in the short term, the human costs were horrendous. Around 7 to 8 million people died from the famine.
